What equipment does my daughter need?
The girls require only stick, sport(wire)goggles, and a colored mouth guard(not white or clear).  Sometimes the girls need gloves in the spring when it is cold particularly if they have a metal shaft to the stick.  Developmental girls (grades 1&2) wear pinnies, and uniforms to the remainder of the girls(grades 3-8).

When are practices?

The girls lacrosse season begins as soon as we can use gym space or use fields in mid-March, however this time is very hard to predict practice times.  The goal during this period is to make practice at least once a week .
At the beginning of April, we begin to practice on the Nashoba High School Lacrosse fields when they are deemed available by the district.  Practices are scheduled usually once during the week and one early Saturday morning.

What about games?
Games are played on Sundays from  about 12:00 to 5:00pm at Nashoba High School or at the other team's home field.

I have a boy who is also learning the game and want to know if I can sign up my daughter?  What is the difference?
The focus of the game is the same as the boys as the object is to send a ball through the goal by means of the racket, but whereas boys resort to strength & more bodily force, the girls depend predominately on skill which defines women's lacrosse along with strength, athleticism, and speed.  The girls stick is much tighter and a smaller pocket which requires more skill with catching/throwing and stronger cradling while on the run.  Girls wear only goggles(eye safety) and checking is limited to stick contact only and begins at the 7/8th grade level, there is no checking at the 5/6th grade level and below.  We have structured the program to offer your daughter developmental skills which will follow into the girls game and at every step level increase demands more skill & speed - leading them very well into higher levels of play at high school and select teams too.

How young do you start?
We start at 1st & 2nd grade with our developmental level and carry girls teams in grade 3 through 8 and compete in the Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League.

How much does it cost for my daughter to play?
Registration is $110, plus @$49 for the cost of the uniform(2009).  Sticks start at @ $50 and goggles start at $40.  We do have an equipment night where total equipment starter packages were offered at $95.  We do have girls selling used sticks if interested.

What does my registration fee cover?
Your registration covers for the team league fee, the youth jamboree(mid-June)fee, balls/equipment, and US Lacrosse registration which insures both your daughter and the organization.  We strive to keep costs to a minimum and carry very little $$ over from year to year as a non-profit.

My daughter is in 6th grade and has never played lacrosse before. Is that OK?
It is great that your daughter is interested and we welcome everyone new to the great sport of lacrosse up to 8th grade!

My daughter plays soccer and I am concerned that she can't do both sports.  What if she can't make all the practices?
I ask the girls try very hard to make all the practices since spring is the main season for lacrosse.  If you have trouble with practices/games, we would rather have you make the practices you can as long as you try to let us know ahead.  We are pretty confident your daughter will soon learn to love the game of lacrosse and soon forget how to spell souccar.
