Parent Meeting Agenda

  1. Who I am.
    1. Experience. Played lacrosse at Ohio State University and was on the Fencing team also (NCAA Championships 3x(I’m proud of it)).
    2. Parent too. Three kids. Live in Stow, from Buffalo, NY
  2. Coaching Philosophy. We are a team built on character and pride. We have a culture built on respect, hard work, trust in each other, and most importantly – Fun!
    1. Team Values.
·        Honoring the Game. Roots. Respect for:
1.      Rules
2.      Opponents
3.      Officials
4.      Teammates
5.      Self
·        ELM tree for Mastery. E is for Effort. (maximum effort) L is for Learning(continue to learn & improve), M is for mistakes(learn from is then “flush” - it's always better to TRY!).
·        FUN!
    1. Policy on playing time & missing practices.
·        My goal is to have everyone play with equal playing time. This is difficult as I am limited with assistant coaches. I track who starts each game and rotate that around so everyone starts the same number of games and once the game is in play, substitution happens as needed. If your daughter is tired more often, I will swap her out to give her a rest. I will position girls where they are most able to succeed and grow – rotating as best as possible.
·        Try not to miss weekday practices as I try to work on teamwork type drills during the weekday practices. Do not worry about contacting me on missing practices.
·        Missed games. Please let me know by email the week before prior to Friday night as I try to work on positions for Saturday practice.

  1. Goals & Hopes for the Season
    1. Team goals. Fun. True team play. Player development.
    2. Parent goals?
  2. Logistics.
    1. Communication. I will use the website for most of my communication so parents are responsible for keeping all contact information up to date. Email is the way all general information will be going out. Should you need to contact me, I am on the road 50-75% of my day so I may not get to you via email immediately. I will always try to answer my cell phone and often will try to take time to talk.
    2. Schedule. Posted on the web for your reference.
    3. Equipment. If you daughter wants to be a goalie, we supply the equipment. All other required equipment is the player/parent responsibility.
    4. Emergency. I carry with me at every practice the players contact list you submitted on the website and will use these numbers should an emergency arise. It is the parent’s responsibility to keep contact information up to date. I carry a first aid kit at all times along with a cell phone.
  3. Volunteers
    1. Score Keepers
    2. Assistant coaches
    3. Anything else?
  4. Thanks for the privilege of coaching your daughters.
Coach Patty Bolton
