posted 10/10/2009 The focus of the game is the same as the boys as the object is to send a ball through the goal by means of the racket, but whereas boys resort to strength & more bodily force, the girls depend predominately on skill which defines women's lacrosse along with strength, athleticism, and speed. The girls stick is much tighter and a smaller pocket which requires more skill with catching/throwing and stronger cradling while on the run. Girls wear only goggles(eye safety) and checking is limited to stick contact only and begins at the 7/8th grade level, there is no checking at the 5/6th grade level and below. We have structured the program to offer your daughter developmental skills which will follow into the girls game and at every step level increase demands more skill & speed - leading them very well into higher levels of play at high school and select teams too.
Equipment:
Required = Girls lax stick (different from the boys), goggles, and non-clear mouthguard. Back to top
