Welcome to the 2010 Lacrosse Season!
We have already had a great beginning with 93 girls currently registered for lacrosse this spring, a successful equipment/uniform night,
and a wonderful grant receipt from the Alice Eaton Fund for new goals/equipment! In case you didn't know, our board has been busy working on the establishment of our organization and in a short 7 months we have already made it to official non-profit status! So that is the wonderful news about our group and welcome to "our tribe". (more to come on that)
I know many of you are wondering about the season so here is a short synopsis. We will be starting practices 30 March
pending field conditions - earlier if I get approval from the school. Practices will be either Teusday/Wednesday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm and Saturday mornings(times to be announced). Games are being scheduled now by the League and we should have a final schedule by the end of March. They will Start April 11th.
Very soon you should receive an introductory email from your coaches. Please be aware that this is our primary mode of communication so if weather is bad, an email notice of cancellation will be made NLT 1 hour before practice. Should if be cancelled after that, a notice may go out(though we try not to make late decisions) and someone will be at the field for those last minute notices.
On equipment, please have goggles, colored mouthguard, and a lacrosse stick(we have some to borrow temporarily). Equipment can be purchased at Imagination Sports(Mention NGL for a 10% discount) in Clinton or other stores of choice.
Lacrosse is a running game so for the older girls in
5th grade or higher, you may want to get a few runs in before we start so running the field won't be so painful, besides it's nice to show up and run laps around your buddies!
Soon we will send out a notice on our annual meeting once time and location are confirmed so please consider attending and become familiar as well as provide feedback and constructive suggestions - See you soon!
Sticks UP!
Patty Bolton
